If all this hoopla for the Gingerbread Guy has made you hungry here is an easy recipe for your fave celebrity cookie! Make sure you get Ma and/or Pa to help, and make sure you have a cookie cutter!
The Gingerbread Guy Cookies
7 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons ground ginger
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/3 cup vegetable shortening
1½ cups dark molasses
2/3 cup cold water1. In large bowl, combine first 7 ingredients, mixing well; set aside.
2. In large mixing bowl beat together with electric mixer on medium speed the sugar and shortening until fluffy; add the molasses and water, mixing well. Stir in the flour mixture until just mixed. Cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Lightly grease baking sheets.
4. Roll about ¼ of the dough ¼-inch thick on lightly floured surface. Cut with a floured gingerbread cutter or other shaped cutters. Place about 2-inches apart on baking sheets. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until no indentation remains when touched. Transfer to wire racks to cool. Decorate with colored frosting, sugar and candies as desired.Makes about 2½ dozen 2½-inch gingerbread men.

Decorating Tips
Once your cookies are baked and cooled, and you've picked out a swell hair style for your guy, it's time to decorate! Now this is a daunting task cause GBG likes to wear clothes that really express his personality. So here are some tips to help you make your guys look hot while tasting even better-teehee!
- You may declare pink the new black if you don't like licorice.
- Brown M&M's make the coolest shades!
- When you think “khaki's” think “peanut butter”.
- Don't use a sharpie! Not even for tatoos!
- If your unsure about a color choice you may try it on first. (If you get a little crazy in the dressing room, bring extra napikins!)
- When accessorizing, remember, “a little is a lot, and a lot is a lot, but anything in between isn't a lot.”
- Prepare yourself mentally for this creative endevor with a cup of tea and a moment of solitude.
